I wanted to start a meet-up group for those of you who are usually embarassed to go out with your friends and start talking about what matters most in your lives... your feline companions. I know that personally whenever I am with my fellow crazy cat friends, all we end up talking about is our animals and the adorable and funny things they do - not to mention the animal welfare world in general (as well as our jobs, social lives, etc... we have not totally lost it (yet) to the animal world). PAWS is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1962 by Westport, Connecticut resident Betty Long to rescue homeless dogs and place them in permanent homes. In the early 1980s, our rescue efforts were expanded to include cats. PAWS rescues & rehomes approximately 115 dogs and 435 cats annually. Many of the dogs faced euthanasia at local pounds and most of the cats that we help are strays and abandoned cats that roam our streets. A portion of the pets that come to PAWS have been relinquished by …

Hi Everyone! Thank you for your interest in The New Milford Animal Rights Advocacy Group! As an avid animal lover and rights advocate residing in New Milford, I decided to form this group in order to unite local individuals who, just like myself, have the willingness to become a resonating voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, thus translating their genuine compassion for animals into productive action. In that respect, the group's main objective would be to act as an informative cata …
This is a group to get people together who support animal rights. We will list all types of events from animal group tricky trays to just general animal events around northern new jersey. A number of friends of mine love these kinds of events so I'm sure there are more of us out there. With Hurricane Sandy a few people I know have been taking donations for furry friends as well as the humans who need help and what better way to reach out to people to help with donations than on a meetup site.
