Happy Tails Update

Last week I helped out at Happy Tails Cat Sanctuary in Chesterland. (See photos below)

Thank you to those who have offered to help. While many shelters and Sanctuaries could use a helping hand, some have more urgent needs at any given time due to current circumstances.
This is the case with Happy Tails. With this in mind, this weekend there will be a Spring clean-up Saturday and Sunday, April 4th and 5th. 10am-4pm both days.
Lets help bring Happy Tails back up to speed!

The kitties there seemed happy and well cared for, and the Director seems to have her heart in the right place; there are just many projects that could use a helping hand.

The following list contains some of the projects that could use some help:

General clean-up of yard debris, including disposal and repair of items throughout yard.
Thorough cleaning of all feeding and bedding areas, including walls, floors, and cages.
Repairs to door latches
Installation of a new ceiling fan
Trench line dug for a water line to the out buildings
Install a portable hot water heater
Construct a greenhouse on the property (all materials on site)
Take all blankets and bedding to a local laundromat to clean
Help on certain days with feeding, water, and litter box cleaning

Please Call Ginger for directions; [masked] or [masked] cell if you are able to help this Saturday or Sunday with Spring clean-up ...also if you can help at another time or can donate items.

Remember; donations of paper towels, kitty litter and food are always appreciated

    Just an FYI....This Meetup came up at the last minute and was unable to get an actual physical address. Please contact Ginger if you are interested in volunteering to help the cats. Thanks...Donna, CCR Organizer

    • “ Even though there is so much that needs to be done; every effort helps and makes a difference. If we can get more people to help out ongoingly...it will get done. I concentrated on one room and when I left I could see the difference it made, and it will now be easier to keep it clean. If many of us can make it out there even for a couple hours, it will make a huge difference. Any weekend from 10am-4pm, call Ginger to let her know you can be there and she can give you directions and verify that someone will be there. I drove home with my van covered in tiny paw prints...a happy reminder of all those little fur kids I had the pleasure of meeting. ”
    • “ Happy Tails is a wonderful farm with about 100 cats in their sanctuary. However lots of cats and lots of clean up on a daily base. This will be a on going effort to care for the cats. They are healthy and have been spayed or neutored. The Sanctuary is blessed to have a volunteer vet tech to take care of their medical needs. HT needs volunteers on a daily base......great cats and lots of love to share ”
